What do you call two men in a skiff?

I haven't been blogging much. I have been reading all the dailies and all the blogs from the guardians that are on the ground right now. Just 12 men doing dirty dirty work. Killing and scaring dolphins.
A few days ago and today the "gang" of dolphin killers had strange behavior. Not really sure what their tactic is, or if they are trying to mess with the volunteers heads or what..
Few days ago two men and a skiff when to the dolphin holding pens and transfered 2 adults and a baby into the boat. They then proceeded to go out to the horizon line, out of sight, and return very shortly after with no dolphins. ???
Today they actually "rescued" a dolphin that had escaped the drive of all its pod members. 3 dolphins actually eluded the fishermen, 2 swam out to sea and this one dolphin just hovered around the holding pens. The men organized a transfer sling and lifted the dolphin out and drove to another point and set him back into the sea??? What is going on..too much poison dolphin meat has made them crazy.
Or maybe they heard a certain someone was in the neighborhood...to be continued..

On a fundraising note, I may change the date. The date I had initially chosen is the same night as the Oscars. So im re thinking that.
Everything seems to be coming together...but dolphins are still dying almost daily. We cant move fast enough.

make the call..write a email

if you think this is wrong...write a email, make a long distance call...let this community that we are not going to let dolphins die here for much longer.

Spread the word. Raise awareness. Speak out.

take my breath away

After such a long stretch 17 or 18 days without killing in dolphins, the dolphin slaughterers are back at at it.
In the last 3 days, approx 40 dolphins have been killed in Taiji.

They have not only been slaughtered in the most inhumane way, they have been trapped, separated from their families, tormented and finally stabbed to death or drowned.

A large pod of 25-30 dolphins were bullied into the Cove today.
In all the fear, chaos and noise, 2 dolphins jumped the nets. One brave soul swam out to sea, hopefully to find the pod, the other dolphin swam towards the cove guardians. The dolphin must sense that they wanted to help. This scared little being made a sharp turn and swam head first into a rocky cliff, dying. We can never know exactly what the dolphins think in these horrifying last moments. I believe they are smart enough to commit suicide. Im not saying that this is what the dolphin did....but its possible. Listening to your entire family scream for their lives might make you do something drastic too.

I wish I could get their sooner than my ticket is booked for.  The image of beautiful species crashing head first into rocks, bleeding and dying, lays so heavy on my chest tonight. I wasn't there, I only read the dailies, but tonight i'm sickened to tears.

Wake the fuck up people.

This is un-exceptable. This act of torture on this wordly species is far beyond anyones "culture".

13 kill free days!!!

13 days kill free at the Cove! Thats a great way to end 2010!

The rumor is that they will be back out hunting tomorrow.

But then there's Misty.

Misty is a small dolphin that has been discovered living in a small filthy tank at dolphin base. Dolphin base is where the Taiji trainers hold dolphin shows for the public and keep dolphins captive.
At first it looked like the shallow algae pool was empty, but then there was Misty.
Misty carries around a small yellow buoy in his mouth, and just bobs above the waters surface, day after lonely day. Recently we have found out that Misty is a small male dolphin.

Captain Paul Watson from Sea Shepherd offered dolphin base $ 5000USD for the release of Misty to the Cove Guardians.
When dolphin base employee was interviewed about Misty and the cash that was offered for him, he simply said " dont worry about the dolphin, he is sick with lung disease. And the dolphin is not for sale for any amount of money" That was the jist of it.
Wait.....what??? Dolphin base wont take $5000USD for a sick dying dolphin.

Please look for Misty on his facebook page and his video on youtube.

This little social animal is lonely and scared and swimming in his own filth. He is being fed medicine in dirty old fish and has no other dolphins to interact with. It's this behavior of these people that infuriates me. What kind of human being is capable of this type of torture? Pricks.
